COMMUNICATIONS
Communication is “vital” in the virtual world. Without it, we (JTCB) will be unable to do our job effectively and provide the best service possible. In addition, due to the vast number and variety of Customers/Clients being serviced by (JTCB), timely communication is of necessity and therefore, a requirement. Therefore, Customers/Clients that are nonresponsive and/or fail to reply to communication sent by (JTCB) (via email/phone) in a timely manner (24 or 48 hours business days--EXCEPT when Project is completed LESS than 72 hours or is a RUSH Job) may result in 1) The Project being delayed and not being completed in a timely manner, which will not be the responsibility of (JTCB); 2) Project considered to be abandoned by Customer/Client (due to “non-communication”), which is a direct “breach” of the Service Agreement; 3) Project being terminated (due to “abandonment of Project” by Customer(s)/Client(s), which is a breach of this agreement); which will result in deposit/retainer being forfeited AND any outstanding payment owed to (JTCB) will become due immediately along with the activation of the “Terms & Conditions”, “Cancellation Policy”, etc.
IF a Project has been completed in 72 hours or less or is a RUSH Job and the Customer/Client becomes non-responsive to communication sent by (JTCB), Project will be closed, finalized and immediately subject to ALL “Terms & Conditions” and “Scope of Work” and payment will be due in FULL.
ALL “TAC”s of this Service Agreement & Scope of Work remain INTACT and are enforceable at ALL TIMES during this agreement until ALL “TACs” have been met and satisfied; NO EXCEPTIONS.
*There will be an additional charge for “strong to difficult dialects” that increase the transcription time in accordance with our transcription terms.
What is considered “Poor” audio quality? This includes “strong & difficult” dialects, mumbling, whispering, crosstalk, dictating while driving (with the windows down), radio and/or music playing, and recordings made in public places with extreme background noise.
*(The due date quoted is based on “Good-Great” audio quality unless stated otherwise in the service agreement).
CASSETTE(S) – For any cassette(s) received by JTCB and/or our office, if the project is cancelled, a $25.00 fee will be assessed and subtracted from the deposit or required before the release and return of the cassette(s) for the necessary administrative process. Note that cassette audios that are LESS than (30) audio minutes will incur a (30)-minute minimum charge.
Certifying documents: Any documents needing certification will be transcribed “verbatim,” capturing only what’s on the actual audio/video with a 98-100% accuracy rate, dependent on audio quality. The customer/client understands that they cannot dictate or influence the outcome of the transcript in any way, including by providing input.
Once JTCB has completed and certified the transcript, the customer/client may not “alter or edit” it in ANY WAY. Doing so could invalidate the certification, and JTCB will not be responsible or accountable for the transcript once it has been altered. We will also not recertify, correct, or make any changes after the transcript has been modified.
We DO NOT accept original documents, only copies. Please refrain from delivering any originals to our office.
Before starting ANY project, a signed agreement and a deposit are required; NO EXCEPTIONS.
(NOTE: We do not transcribe or certify documents for Federal Appeal Courts.)
(This is a partial list. The complete terms and conditions are attached to the scope of work and/or service agreement that will be provided upon signing.)
